The Santa Teresa Foothills Neighborhood Association has been trying to stay actively involved in the planning process for the historic site being planned in the Santa Teresa County Park. This historic site, while a great asset for the park, is raising some issues as well. There is some concern that an area that has been used for years by neighbors for hiking, biking, dog walking, etc. will be reconfigured to discourage or forbid those activities. The next step in the process is the Board of Supervisors Meeting the morning of November 3rd. Here is an e-mail announcement that the County Parks Department sent out:
At their October 15, 2009 regular business meeting, the Housing, Land Use, Environment, and Transportation Committee (HLUET) of the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors accepted the Final Santa Teresa County Park Historic Area Site Plan and Final Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration and forwarded a favorable recommendation to the County Board of Supervisors (BOS) for their final adoption of the Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration and approval of the Santa Teresa County Park Historic Area Site Plan project. The BOS meeting will occur -
