STFNA is pleased to announce the 2011 STFNA Scholarship Winner

25 Aug 2011 12:54 AM | STFNA Admin (Administrator)
Congratulations to Taylor Litoniua, recipient of the 2011 STFNA Scholarship

Taylor is a graduate of Notre Dame High School and is heading off to Loyola Marymount University this coming Fall.  Her initial interests of study include studio arts and graphic design.

Taylor’s letters of recommendation were highly praising of her talent’s and commitment to others and certainly impressed the members of the board.

Taylor has exhibited her leadership qualities and commitment to her community by working with Title 1 students at Steinbeck elementary school helping them with their reading and writing.  She has sat on the Notre Dame student body council, was captain of her school’s Lacrosse team leading them to the WBAL Skyline Divisional Championships for two years, music minister, retreat leader and elected representative to the outside community representing Notre Dame.  Taylor designed her senior service project, “Color My World”,  around her love for the Arts and Arts education by establishing a six week art education experience for 4th and 5th graders attending Sacred Hearts Community Center’s summer program.  A program that opened doors for children who otherwise do not have the resources or opportunities to explore art.   “Developing their creativity and ultimately their confidence, will help shape their world to come.” She continues to volunteer what time she can to the center.

“I want to pursue my art career as a form of communication for those who are struggling and are in need of hope.”

We wish you well Taylor as you begin this new adventure!

Thank you again to those who donated to the scholarship program and made this a worthwhile project: Nicholas & Dedra Jize, Marie Moore, Matt Freeman, Donald & Alexandra Duran, David Van Etten, Thomas Schulte, Norma Callender, John Hesler, Jon Reinke, and Lynne Paulson.
